Amber and I had our appointment this morning with the MS specialist. The appointment went well. As we suspected, we learned a little bit and gained some clarity regarding my condition but we still do not have a firm diagnosis. The doctor showed me my MRI scans for the first time so I actually got to see the lesion in my brain. I’m not certain why but in some way it was really helpful to actually see a picture of it.

Two Years Ago Today…
I woke up with sweaty palms.
It was here.
This thing that had been planned and arranged for months.
The sun was clear and bright–it was going to be a beautiful day.
I met my girl at the park for breakfast to spend some quiet time together before the chaos.
That afternoon I drove into the countryside to give my life away.

Marital Hope
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.
(Ephesians 5:31-32 ESV)
I was struck today while reading “This Momentary Marriage” by John Piper by the role that marriage plays in our world. Piper restates and elaborates on the point that Paul made in Ephesians 5:31-32. Piper articulates the biblical truth that marriage was formed from the beginning [Gen 2:24]. God intended marriage to be a picture and a parable revealing the relationship Christ has to His church. Something struck me, however, that I’ve never pondered before. God said, “Therefore a man shall leave his mother and father and hold fast to his wife”. And in saying that, he was picturing what Christ would do for His bride, the church.

Something to Behold
From time to time I am taken aback by my wife and her beauty. We have almost spent 2 years together in the refinement of marriage. These have been two years of unfathomable value to me. My wife is perhaps the single greatest teacher I have. I often find her to be the impetus of growth and the balm to my wounds. I am the recipient of untold grace, support, and encouragement from her.
